This week I have returned to an old favourite of mine - Sashiko stitchery. This lovely Japanese style of country quilting is rewarding with clean elegant timeless designs that are relaxing to stitch.
I have been combining the Sashiko with hexagonal shapes to create a collection of pieces to decorate the dinner table - table centres and bowl mats.
I have used my favourite flax leaf pattern and combined it in a collection of ways on a variety of backgrounds.
This is such a wonderful stitching style to return to.
I have to work out some more ways to combine the techniques.
