Vintage Doyley Press Delight

Recently I was cleaning at my grandmothers house and came across this truly wonderful vintage doyley press featuring a gorgeous crinoline lady.  Its made from plywood and tied with ribbon. The lady is raised from the surface. Its a beauty.

Creating on a gloomy Sunday

After looking out at the gloomy Brisbane aspect this morning, I decided I needed cheering up.  A dose of healthy crafting seemed the right medicine and this country style angel doll was the answer.  She has a sunny smile and oh so Sunday hair.   I feel better already.

Monday Creating

Today, I had a day off work and decided to complete my new softie - a robot right out of the 1950's in red, grey, and black.  I really like him.  Check out this sneak peek.

I also received some fabric today from Spoonflower featuring some of my paper doll designs. Now what to do with it......

My Ballerina doll pattern featured in this month's Patchwork and Stitching Magazine

I was very pleased to get my copy of this month's Patchwork and Stitching magazine and to see my Ballerina Doll gracing the cover.

Adeline the ballerina looks gorgeous in the wonderful photography - I just had to take a picture of her with her sister Giselle who is gracing my daughter's bedroom (I just hope Giselle doesn't get too jealous!)

The magazine also features a profile about me.  All my work looks so fantastic in the pictures.  I am really chuffed.

Everything Looks Better in Red 3

Another two redwork framed versions of my stitchery designs from my Etsy store have been added to my gallery. The designs are a deer and a small bird with flowers, two if my personal favourites. The red gives such a lovely finish.

Hopping into my Etsy Store - new stitchery patterns of a rabbit and hopping mouse

I am just hopping on to my blog (bad pun alert) to show off my latest stitchery embroidery e-pattern: a duo of a hopping mouse and a rabbit.  Both are in red (of course) and are simple but appealing.

Bluebird Bunting featured in February's Creating Country Threads

I just received my copy of February's Creating Country Threads magazine (Vol 12 No 9), and I am delighted to see my project Bluebird Bunting featured. This project is one of my favourites: a lovely mix of soothing blue colours, some cute bluebirds, and I've also added long strips of ric rac and bells so that the project moves and makes music in the breeze. I'd love you to check out this project if you get the chance - the pictures are wonderful.

Everything looks better in Red 2

This is the second finished redworked version of my motifs - the large butterfly. The change in colour from variegated brown to red gives such a different feel.

Everything looks better in Red 1

I have wanted to make a gallery of my stitchery motifs all made up in redwork and mounted in simple little red felt frames. Here are the first one's finished: the colonial girl and flapper girl motifs. As with everything - red is best!
